In Absentia

by elisabeth@itsyfactor on November 14, 2011

Hello *waves* from the depths!

I have been MIA for a while, so sorry.  In my world, it’s a good thing though.  You see, we are moving, and my energies have been filled with all that that entails.

In my absence, there have been birthdays, costumes, snow in October, babies born in galleries.  There’s a lot to catch up on.

I’ve also taken on a new online job — writing for Apartment Therapy’s Ohdeedoh.  I’m absolutely thrilled to be there, so if you need an Itsy Factor fix, check out my recent Ohdeedoh articles first:

New York Times Best Illustrated Books of 2011

DIY Cloth Baby Book

Creative Pregnancy / Gender Announcement

Geometric Color Blocking Trend

I’m a Giant Dollhouse Challenge

Crib Bumper Repurposed as Teething Rail

Potty Roundup

My work there may give The Itsy Factor a different turn.  Perhaps it will be more personal here.  Perhaps I’ll do more inspiration boards or more fashion.  Perhaps I’ll be more inclined to write about my personal experience, both of parenting as well as my creative and inner struggles as a woman.  It will be interesting to see where my new environment and my new ‘hood guides me.

What would you like to hear about?

Oh, I’m glad to hear you’ve been silent over here for *good* reasons! I started to worry a little!

Going to head over to look at some of those articles. As for …Itsy… I’d love to see a more personal touch, although inspiration boards are always fun too.

I love the articles you’ve been writing over at ohdeeoh. They’re great! I agree that I think you should go a bit more personal.

How about a little bit of everything? I have really enjoyed your posts over on ohdeedoh, but am quite happy to see that you have returned to the itsy factor!

Thanks for the support and ideas Girls. I think I’ll experiment for a while and see where the wind takes me. We’re finally all moved in and taking baby steps toward the home we want to be in. Feels *so* good.
