Hi!
Please help! We are expecting our second daughter in 4 weeks, and we cannot agree on name for her. I have been reading blogs, and different sites and now I feel even more overwhelmed with picking the best name for her.
Our oldest daughter is Lila and her middle name is after her older cousin Belle. I loved Lila for a couple of years before we had her and it just fits her, and I am still in love with her name. I think this is why it is harder choosing a name for our next baby, because I want to have a love affair with it as well.
We decided on a name for the baby back in October, it was going to be Theodora Poppy Jean. She was going to be called “Teddie.” Poppy was our dog, that we actually named after my great-grandma who painted poppies on china. Kind of crazy to use Poppy, but I still love that name. Jean, is my grandmother’s middle name and my husband’s grandmother and mother’s middle names. Although our last name is only 4 letters, I just started thinking it’s too long and I didn’t want there to be a lot of boy Teddy’s in her grade. And also, I want some more feminine. My husband still likes Teddie a lot, but I just can’t picture it anymore at all. I like the name, I just don’t love it like I love Lila.
We are still wanting to use Jean as a middle name. We like older, vintage names. Here are some names I like: Millie (is my number 1 right now) and Ollie. My husband doesn’t care for either of them. His short list is: Teddie, Zuzu, Remie.
If you could help us out, I would really appreciate it. I just want something feminine and a name that will grow with her.
Thanks!
Natalie
I love the idea of Susanna nn Zuzu for you! It means “lily”, just like Lila does. That could be a fun connection between sisters? Also Romilly nn Romy, Ramona nn Remie? Matilda or Amelie nn Millie?
